Oxford, United Kingdom | Information Technology and Services
Nominated by
Richard Sahonta Prince 2 PMI
Project Manager at NHS
London, United Kingdom | Hospital & Health Care
The reason for my nomination
David has from a very young age been driven by technology; this hunger to push the boundaries of the resource available to him saw him write his first successful game concept on the BBC Micro for Superior Software at the age of eleven. After graduating in Artificial Intelligence, he channelled his in-depth knowledge of technology with his desire for success within business, and tacked start-ups including Intelisys, Commerce One, Adaro, Dione, UtilityOne and PodLoco.com.
He is a team player, inspiring the team around him to always strive to have an out of the box mentality and push the boundaries in delivering technology solutions. At times described by many of his clients and staff as an inspired perfectionist who is blunt, inspiring, creative and profitable, it these differentiators that provide him with a never fail mentality, that has allowed him to turn around failing organisations and deliver failing Projects and Programmes which many believed irrecoverable.
Like all entrepreneurs David is driven by the success and the financial rewards which success entails, however what has shocked many around him has been the desire to give back to the community. He works closely with numerous local community initiatives and at a National level provides NHS Trust’s free consultancy on how they can deliver Enterprise Solutions and utilise technology as an enabler to better patient care. He believes that one person will not change everything within the NHS, but if you can lead the way and create a collective of positive changes it will eventually snowball and lead to improved technology solutions within the NHS, which ultimately improve patient care. Those around him say that you really wonder how many other things David does, but his desire to remain in the background with his community and charity work, and not wanting to publicise his work means that many of his actions go unnoticed by those around him; however will have long lasting effects on the benefactors.
However it is David approach as a visionary leader that makes David an ideal candidate for this award, as he has had both a cultural and business impact on all the organisations he has been involved in. He strives at developing those around him enabling them to believe in their talent and adopt a “can do”, mentality, his individual appreciation of all his staff has seen many of his previous staff go on to take senior positions at multi national companies across the globe.
This passion for all things technology and having the talent of knowing when to react at the right, time whilst finding the right people to deliver leading edge technology solutions which push the boundaries. Will mean that in David’s world anything is possible, and allows all the organisations he is involved with to realise an undeniable increase in financial and operational strength.
